Editing a Container in IntelliTrack Mobile

A container may be updated in IntelliTrack Mobile. You are able to change the basic container information such as name, type, and dimensions. Additionally, you are able to add and remove assets and items from the containers.

Note: In order to work with containers, the role of the logged-in user must include the Containers feature.

Note: A container site-physical location is changed during a container move. A container move is performed in the IntelliTrack web application at the Container Move page.

To edit a container from the IntelliTrack Mobile application, please refer to the steps below.

  1. Select Manage > Containers from the navigation pane.
  2. The Manage Containers form appears.

  1. The options in the Site field drop-down list include each site that the logged-in user has access to. To view a container for a site, select the drop-down arrow in the Site field and select the site from the list that appears.

  1. After you select a site, all containers found in the selected site are displayed onscreen.

  1. To edit a container, select it from the list of containers displayed in the Manage Containers form and select the Edit iconEdit icon.

  1. The Edit Container form appears. The Container tab is to the front.

  1. The container information, container dimensions, assets in the container, and items in the container may be changed.

Container Tab

The following information may be changed from the Container tab.

  1. Name: the container's name may be changed by entering the change to the name in this field.
  2. Description: the container's description may be changed by entering the change to the description in this field.
  3. Site: the site in which the container resides may not be changed. To change the container site-location, perform a container move in the IntelliTrack web application.
  4. Location: the site-physical location in which the container resides may not be changed. To change the container site-location, perform a container move in the IntelliTrack web application.
  5. Type: the container's type may be change by tapping the drop-down arrow in this field to view the container type options available; a new type for this container may be selected from this list.

Dimensions Tab

A container's dimensions may be updated at the Dimensions tab.

  1. To change the container dimensions, tap the Dimensions tab to bring this portion of the form to the front.

  1. Length: the container length and measurement unit for it may be changed.
    1. Enter the container's length in this field.
    2. cm: select this option if the measurement unit is in centimeters.
    3. ft: select this option if the measurement unit is in feet.
    4. in: select this option if the measurement unit is in inches.
    5. m: select this option if the measurement unit is in meters.
  2. Width: the container width and measurement unit for it may be changed.
    1. Enter the container's width in this field.
    2. cm: select this option if the measurement unit is in centimeters.
    3. ft: select this option if the measurement unit is in feet.
    4. in: select this option if the measurement unit is in inches.
    5. m: select this option if the measurement unit is in meters.
  3. Height: the container height and measurement unit for it may be changed.
    1. Enter the container's height in this field.
    2. cm: select this option if the measurement unit is in centimeters.
    3. ft: select this option if the measurement unit is in feet.
    4. in: select this option if the measurement unit is in inches.
    5. m: select this option if the measurement unit is in meters.
  4. Weight: the container weight and measurement unit for it may be changed.
    1. Enter the container's weight in this field.
    2. g: select this option if the measurement unit is in grams.
    3. kg: select this option if the measurement unit is in kilograms.
    4. lb: select this option if the measurement unit is in pounds.
    5. oz: select this option if the measurement unit is in ounces.

Assets Tab

You are able to add or remove an asset from a container from the Assets tab.

Important: In order to use assets with a container, the role of the logged-in user must contain the Assets feature.

Adding an Asset to a Container

Note: The role of the logged-in user must contain the Assets feature in order to add an asset to the container.

If the role of the logged-in user contains the Assets feature, you are able to add an asset or assets to the container from the Assets tab. In order to add an asset to the container, it must be found in asset inventory. When an asset is added to a container, an Asset Move to Container transaction occurs.

To add an asset to the container, follow the steps below.

  1. Tap the Assets tab to bring it to the front.

  1. To add an asset to the container, enter the asset in the Asset # field and tap the Add iconAdd icon. Or scan the asset number in the Asset # field.

  1. If the asset is found in inventory, it is added to the container.

Removing an Asset from a Container

If you add an asset to the container and you want to remove it, use the Delete iconDelete icon to remove the asset from the container.

Removing an Asset that Has Not Been Saved to the Container

If the asset has not yet been saved to the container, it will be removed from the container when you select the asset and select the Delete iconDelete icon.

  1. From the Assets tab, select the asset that you want to remove from the container.

  1. Tap the Delete iconDelete icon.
  2. A message appears: "Remove from container?."

  1. If you do not want to remove the asset from the list, select No to close the message and return to the Assets tab; the asset will remain in the list.
  2. To remove the asset from the container, select Yes; the message closes and you are returned to the Assets tab. The asset has been removed from the asset list.

Removing an Asset that Has Been Saved to the Container

If the container is being edited and the asset has already been saved to the container, when you remove the asset from the container, you must move the asset into a physical location. An Asset Move from Container transaction occurs.

  1. From the Assets tab, select the asset that you want to remove from the container.

  1. Tap the Delete iconDelete icon. A message appears: "Remove from container?."

  1. Select Yes to remove this asset from the container.
  2. Since this asset has been saved to this container, the Select Destination Location form appears. If you want to remove this asset from a container, it must be moved to a physical location.

  1. Enter the Site-Location to which the asset is being moved.

  1. Press Enter on the device or select the Save icon. The location is validated and then the asset is moved into it.
  2. You are returned to the Assets tab. The asset has been removed from the container.

Items Tab

You are able to add or remove an item from a container from the Items tab.

Adding an Item to the Container

You are able to add an item or items found in inventory to the container from the Add Item to Container form, which is reached from the Items tab. It uses a field lock feature that has been designed for faster data entry. It enables you to lock a default value in a field. By locking a field, the field entry does not have to be continually re-entered during data entry. When an item is added to a container, a Move to Container transaction occurs.

Note: In order to add an item to the container, the item must be found in inventory.

To add an item to the container, follow the steps below.

  1. Select the Items tab to bring it to the front.
  2. Tap the Add icon.
  3. The Add Item to Container form appears.

  1. Site field: the default site of the logged-in user is automatically placed in this field. If the user has access to another site and wants to add an item from this site to the container, the user may click the drop-down arrow in the Site field and select the site.
  2. Location field: enter or scan the site-location of the item in this field. If you will be issuing multiple items from this location, you have the option to lock the location so that you do not have to continually scan it. To lock the location, tap the Lock iconLock icon. The location will remain locked Lock icon while items are being added to the container.
  3. Item# field: enter or scan the item number in this field. If you are issuing this item from multiple locations, you have the option to lock the item so that you do not have to continually scan it. Tap the Lock iconLock icon to lock the item number. The item will remain locked Lock icon while items are being added to the container.
  4. Qty field: enter or scan the amount of the item that is being added to the container in this field. If you are adding multiple items with this quantity, you have the option to lock the quantity. To lock the quantity, tap the Lock iconLock icon to the right of this field. The quantity will remain locked Lock icon so that you do not have to continually scan it.
  5. Unit of Measure field: if the default division of the logged-in user uses multiple units of measure, enter or scan the unit of measure in this field. If you are adding multiple items with this unit of measure, you have the option to lock the unit of measure so that you do not have to continually scan it. To lock the unit of measure, tap the Lock iconLock icon to the right of this field; the unit of measure will remain Lock icon locked.
  6. Serial Number field (if applicable): if this is a serial item, enter or scan the serial number in this field.
  7. Lot field (if applicable): if this is a lot item, enter or scan the lot in this field. If you are adding multiple items with this lot number, you have the option to lock the lot so that you do not have to continually scan it. To lock the Lot while scanning this item, tap the Lock icon to the right of this field; the lot will remain Lock icon locked.
  8. Expiration Date field (if applicable): if this is an expiration date item, enter or scan the expiration date in this field. If you are adding multiple items with this expiration date, you have the option to lock this expiration date so that you do not have to continually scan it. To lock the Expiration Date while scanning this item, tap the Lock iconLock icon to the right of this field; the expiration date will remain Lock icon locked.
  9. Save icon: Save icon click to add this item to the container. The form clears, indicating this item has been added to the container.
  10. Continue scanning the items that are being added to this container.
  11. When you are finished adding items to this order, tap the Cancel iconCancel icon. You are returned to the Edit Container form\Items tab. The items have been added to this order.

Removing an Item that Has Not Been Saved to the Container

If the item has not yet been saved to the container, it will be removed from the container when you select the item and select the Delete iconDelete icon.

  1. From the Items tab, select the item that you want to remove from the container.

  2. A message appears: "Remove from container?."
    1. If you do not want to remove this item from the container, select No to close the message and return to the Items tab; the item remains.
    2. If you want to remove this item from the container, select Yes to close the message and return to the Items tab; the item has been removed from the tab.

Removing an Item that Has Been Saved to the Container

If the container is being edited and the item has already been saved to the container, when you remove the item from the container, you must move the item into a physical location.

  1. From the Items tab, select the item that you want to delete.
  2. A message appears: "Remove from container?."
  3. Select Yes to remove this item from the container.
  4. Since this item has been saved to this container, the Select Destination Location form appears. If you want to remove this item from a container, it must be moved to a physical location.

  1. Enter the Site-Location to which the item is being moved.

  1. Press Enter on the device or select the Save icon. The location is validated and then the item is moved into it.
  2. You are returned to the Edit Container form\Items tab. The item has been removed from the container.

Saving the Changes to the Container

  1. Save icon Save icon: select to save the changes made to this container, close the Edit Container form, and return to the Manage Containers page.
  2. Cancel icon Cancel icon: select to discard the changes made to this container, close the Edit Container form, and return to the Manage Containers page.
